Sea food in Indian Recipes

For age long sea has been a repository of various necessary articles for human being, one of them is food. Fishes and several other inhabitants of the sea constitute important part of human food and delicacies. Most important among them are prawn, herring, cod, hilsa, and sea turtles. There are many others and the list is very long. Indian Recipes have also taken note of the usefulness of sea foods in preparing varied delicacies and today not only the recipes but regular food in India contains many of these sea ingredients.

One of the provinces in India that is very rich in providing various Indian Food recipes containing sea food is Goa. For example, the Goan Fish curry is not only locally popular but it has own international acclaim. Goa is a very popular resort for the tourists who come from every nook and corners of the globe and they really enjoy the delicious sea food in Goa restaurants mostly located by the golden sea beaches.

One of the important components of Indian Cuisine with sea food is the prawn and various recipes are prepared with it like the prawns koliwada, prawn balacho, and prawn malai etc. You will also have lobster curry, fried Mackerels, Spicy Sardines and other sea foods to taste.

Though non-vegetarian food is not so popular in South India, some of the South Indian Recipes that are very popular also contain sea food.
